California Fish Grill - fresh seafood eatery

How many of you have been to the Fish Grill in Anaheim Hills? Well, I went to eat at Fish Grill three times this weekend. Dinner on friday, saturday and sunday. It's not that i am obsess with it, but it was really good fish. It's just that i happened to eat there three times this weekend for various reasons and with different people. And yes, i ordered different things for the three nights. I had Trout on the first night (it was really good), Ahi Tuna the second night (it was so so, a bit too meaty for my taste), and White Roughy on the third night (and at this point, since it's my third time there, i ordered extra sauce for my fish cuz the sauce is what makes it soo good). I have to say that White Roughy was by far my favorite, but trout was way up there too... I have yet to try the fried stuff other than the french fries, which by the way is really good too.

I am watching ESPN?!

Oh yeah, i am actually watching ESPN these days. Kinda strange huh? I was channel surfing the other day and i stopped to watch the world cup, it was england against sweden. Surprisingly i enjoyed it. Today, i watched Japan against Brazil. That was painful to watch. But the goal keeper from the Japan team is sooo cute and good. I also watched part of the rerun of US against Ghana, pitiful. Anyway, the point of this entry is the fact that i am actually watching ESPN. Scary thought. I think the next couple of weeks will be interesting, as they start the round of 16 on June 24th. I just realized the final will be on sunday at 11:00am. Ai, is it bad to skip church to watch the final game of FIFA world cup? I am thinking if I can set up the tv in the office... hum...but it's only on cable... hai..

When i am not watching Gilmore Girls

I am offically done with house-sitting. As I am typing this entry, my friends are flying home from their trip. I will be picking them up from the airport and thus my house-sitting adventure comes to an end. I have managed to watched the first two seasons of Gilmore Girls, the first season of Grey's anatomy (plus the additional unaired scenes, thanks to DB), sent out 6 job applications, one online application, researched on school districts, made six bags of icing, baked four cakes, did four loads of laundry, watered their plants and decorated my first character turtle cake "Fishball". So, here is a picture Fishball. Of course I can't bring myself to eat her, but i did give her away to the Hunts so the kids can enjoy my creation.

Job Hunting Update

So, after many attempts in writing my cover letter, I finally got it out!!! The cover letter is done, and i was able to send out six applications today and submitted one online. Totally of SEVEN applications.. good number. I think i have to send out more tomorrow, or rather today. Don't ask me why i am still up at this hour. I think I am hopeless, in fact, i know i am hopeless and beyond help. Seriously think that i am a night owl. If given a choice, i probably won't even bother to be up and about in the daytime and i will just sleep through the day and only come out at night. It is the best time of the day. Hopeless..
I am house-sitting for a friend this week. Well, actually, i have been sleeping here for many nights already. Hum.. wednesday's night to now.. that's (i am counting my fingers right now)..In fact, this will be my sixth night here. Man, i can't believe i spent so much time in the house already. It has been fun. I have to clean up tomorrow tho, and water the plants, and take all the trash out.. It's amazing the amount of trash you can accumulate in just a few days. I am rambling again. it is late...
alright, just wanted to give an update as to my job hunting situation. I probably have to send out another 10 application tomorrow.. back to the papers stuff again.. it's really annoying to keep writing your name, your school, your address, your work experiences over and over again.. it's annoying.. did i mention that it's annoying?

Procrastination?!

Oh me?! Yeah, yeah, yeeeeah... I hate procrastination, yet i am not sure who can do better job at procrastinating than me. I always put off stuff that i have to do. In college and in life. I wanted to procrastinate so much that i googled procrastinator and i found this article: Structured Procrastination It talks about putting off more important things (procrastinating) and do the less important things. Keep in mind that the level of importance is determine not by "actual importance" but rather by your perception of its importance. So in another sense, it feels like deception. You just have to fool your mind into believing that this particular project is not as important as the next, so while you are putting off this "very important" thing that you have to do, you will procrastinate and do the "not as important" thing. I am not saying that this really works, since i haven't tried it yet, but this is just want i do when i am procrastinating. I put off doing certain things by cooking myself a couple of meals a day, making desserts, baking things, cleaning the apartment, watching lots and lots of video, read a book, make a bunch of to-do lists, write on my blog, write emails, check out other people's blogs, google random stuffs.. the list goes on and on.
Currently, i am procrastinating on my cover letter for applications. I have been putting it off for months, seriously months. I don't know why it's so hard to do it. I mean, i did manage to write my thesis in less time...lol. But it's the IDEA of it, and the more i put it off, the harder it is to start writing it. AI, hopeless. I told myself that i have to get it out today! TONIGHT!!anyway, i am going to check on my dinner now.

MG 1 - VW ice cream scene

After posting the pictures from my "little Meteor Garden" adventure from Taiwan. I decided to post up the scene where Shancai and Ah Si went to the ice-cream place, and you can see the VW. Just hit play in the middle, and it's toward the end of the episode (7:42 to be exact). You can see them sitting in the VW and eating ice-cream/coffee. There is a full view of the car as well. Good scene.

Fans of Meteor Garden

Okay, so not only have i been obsessing over k-drama, but apparently i have been obsessing with "talking" about drama. So i was having this conversation with my friend (the camels lover there) and we were talking about going to Jeju Island because after watching so many kdrama, the island just sounds really interesting and worth the trip. Of course we also talked about going to all these different places in Seoul, and at the end, we decided that perhaps we should do a k-drama tour of korea and visit all the famous places that they filmed. At this point, I told my friend how i visited Taipei last year and in fact went to couple of the places that they filmed for Meteor Garden. This is after i got her hooked on the drama because it is good. So, i told her that i would find those pictures and show her. Since youtube is down, so i have a bit of time on my hands, so i dug through my backup cds and found the pictures.
The first set is the automobile ice-cream place that Ah Si took Shancai to on one of their dates, this was right before Shancai kissed him and told him not to move out of his house because his evil mum has come back from NY.
I realized now that i should have taken the picture from the right side of the car so that it matches with the drama. Anyhow, it's better than nothing. When we got there, they told us that this pink car has been reserved. Apparently due to the popularity of MG, people actually come in and request to sit at the same car. So reservation has to be taken, but we were allowed to sit in it to take pictures. We sat in another car booth.
The place is really cute and interesting. The owner actually shipped out a couple of these VW cars from California to Taiwan when he opened this place. The food was not bad, but a bit pricy for taiwan.

Next stop was Fisherman Whalf. This was filmed for Meteor Garden II, so if you didn't watch it, you won't know the significance of it. Shancai had many conversations with the other girl (which i can't remember her name at the moment)at this bridge or under the bridge. The place is really not that big, and we wanted to get there to watch the sunset. I heard that's what they are famous for, but we weren't able to make it there in time for the sunset cuz it's kinda FAR. I really like this place, partly cuz i just love bridges and it was really nice to finally be near the ocean instead of all the shopping malls.
You can see the bridge once you get off the taxi or the bus from the train station. It's about a 15 minutes taxi ride from the train station.
This is taken closer to the bridge, and it does feel like we are at a fishing place. Smells like it.

The third picture:Front of the bridge. A lot of people are here taking a leisure walk around the area.
The fourth picture:Back of the bridge. There are restaurants and shops around here. It's a cute little town. Not much happening, and it was a nice night. In case you are wondering why i am so "bundle up", it's because when we were there for the weekend. It was actually a record low for taipei. It was a really cold new year's eve. But it got much warmer by the second day.

Okay, this isn't where Ah Si was chasing Shancai when she was riding the bus, BUT it does look a bit like it right? Well, i just like the street.
Hope you enjoyed my "mini" photos trip of Taiwan. I saw a bit more than that, but it was a short trip. Lots of eating.. maybe if i have time, i'll post up some pictures of the food we ate there.. It was really good..

You Tube

Ever since youtube has been introduced into my life (thanks to iheartcamels), it hasn't been the same. All the things i desperately want to watch is available through my typing of the name and clicking a few buttons. There will appear the characters that i love and plots that i want to watch. It has been a great last month. I was able to watch at least two anime (Hana Yori Dango-25 episodes, Ranma 1/2-three seasons), and a couple of dramas (Goong!!, Winter Sonata-rewatch-still good, and recently My Girl), then i also watched a bunch of movies (Perhaps Love, Classic, Art of Seduction) The world of video has opened itself to me with endless possibilities. Okay.. okay.. i am done being meladramatic, it's part of the result of watching too many kdrama. Well, which brings me to the very reason why i actually have time to write something on my blog. YOUTUBE is down for regular maintanence. At times like these (which happens every now and then, not too frequent), i have obsolutely no idea what to do with myself. Some of you might have heard of my recent "episode" of me forgetting to pay my cable bill, which inevitable means my cable was cutted in additional to my internet being cutted.. OMG, that was like the end of my world as i know it. That two hours while i tried to get it back up again and having to realized that my one and only credit card doesn't work, let me just spare you of the details of my agony. Let just say that a friend of mine abandoned me in the midst of this tragic event. Alright.. it wasn't that bad...So, i am rambling on and on here cuz youtube is down and it's not time for "sex and the city" yet. So this is my way of venting into cyberspace hoping no one will ever read this and i can just be a freak in my own little world. Maybe i should post up more pictures from the houston trip.. got more pictures..
